| If you take my work as a whole, what you're viewing is - a growing body of small scale art - made with common tools available in office supply stores - infused with fantastical, sometimes semi-abstract themes - only tangentially inspired by the "real world." I'm happy to discuss the tools I use, the physical methods employed, where my ideas came from, and what (if anything) is meant by any individual work of my art. Conversations I've had in the past with interested parties have led to additional artworks. Such "answers" speak directly to the person who inspired them. As a warning, any visual "answer" may also be in the form of another "question." My art is where I "discuss" things that I find impossible to express with formal language. I've had no art training and have very little in the way of material resources. I also have deeply mixed feelings about taking too seriously a hobby that has been a source of calm in a chaotic world. For these reasons, I'm very unlikely to be insulted by anything one might say. I encourage dialogue for the purely selfish reason that I find it inspirational. |
